This year we had an extra meeting in July. Previously, July and August have been kept free. We needed to make plans for our Table Top Sale on September 21st and our Christmas Fair on November 16th when we hope to sell art and craft goods made by ourselves. We had a very pleasing turnout for our meeting and considerable interest and enthusiasm were shown in the creative work demonstrated by some ladies in textiles, glass and pottery.

Our charity concert will be held on Saturday July 13th at 7:00pm. We are greatly indebted to Keith Horner and his choir for their willingness to entertain and to help us to raise funds for our chosen charities.
On July 15th we shall visit Kirkwood Hospice. The invitation was given after the presentation of our cheque in February. Chris and Margaret and I have already had a tour and I can promise that this visit will be enjoyed and appreciated and I look forward to seeing the changes that have been made over the last 2 years. The tour will take place in the afternoon and there will be time for a chat and a cup of tea afterwards. Transport is arranged.

The canal boat trip will take place on Thursday, August 5th, leaving Fir Cottage at 10:00am and returning at 5:30pm. This year the journey will be in the opposite direction, arriving at Brighouse in time for lunch.

Our first meeting of the new session will be held on Monday, September 2nd, starting with a buffet lunch at 12:30pm. Our after-lunch speaker will be Pat Nunn who is looking forward to her return visit.
We hope that more ladies will be able to join with us in the new session and that you will all continue to support our ventures in aid of those less fortunate than ourselves.

Do you have items at home that you no longer use but which are too good to throw away, or have a hobby making goods and would like to be able to sell them? If so why not rent at table for £12:00 at our table-top sale on Saturday 21st September. Any money you make is then yours. We will be open from 9:45am to 3:30pm serving tea, coffee and light lunches.
All our proceeds will be shared between Care Dewsbury and Daybreak, these are the two local charities that we are raising funds for during 2013.
