Ladies' Fellowship December 2014
Twenty eight people arrived at Silkwood Farm for our Ladies' Fellowship Christmas lunch. As we were booked in as "the Beckett Group" a few, myself included, began to wonder if we would gain entry until we spotted familiar faces and were able to indicate such to the attendant. There were groups of people who, like our group, had arrived for the Monday Tinsel and Turkey specials during the month of December.
We all enjoyed our lunch but the honours must go to Dorothy and Joan for finishing all of their sherry trifles, a task which no-one else could accomplish. A special accolade goes to Dorothy for daring to ask the management the whereabouts of the sherry in the trifle!!
The promised entertainment was the gift of a free raffle ticket each and an opportunity to play bingo. Within our group Malcolm won a bottle of wine but none of us got a full line, two full lines or a full house in the bingo. However, we all had a jolly time in a crowded but pleasant environment and it was good to have the company of some gentlemen friends plus friends and daughters of our Ladies' Fellowship group.
Our thanks go to Gill and Margaret for organising the event.
