Nomads House Group
The group’s Christmas party took place on Tuesday evening, 11th December 2012 at Steven and Maggie’s home. Our evening began with a Quiz on the theme of Christmas Songs. This was enjoyable with some amusing somewhat imaginative answers. Our party food highlight was meat pie with mushy peas and gravy. The pies containing succulently tasty meat had been purchased from Dorothy Fox’s granddaughter’s farm-shop at Emley.
We followed with a choice from Trifle, Pavlova, Christmas cake and Mince pies. To have a warm course to begin a frosty evening was an inspired choice! What a pity Dorothy couldn’t enjoy it with us and she was in hospital following a collapse at the end of a concert the previous Sunday Evening! Many thanks to Christine Fox for organising the ordering and collecting of the pies and to all who provided the remaining food.
With our tummies well filled we concluded our evening with another quiz which seemed a little easier than the first. Were our brains more alert after our supper?
Many thanks to Steve and Maggie for their hospitality. So our 2012 House Group Programme was now complete we have enjoyed Bible Study evenings and Social Evenings. Our group provides stimulation, Christian Fellowship, enjoyment and a means of growing together in the faith with members of our church.
