Pilots: Deckhands, Adventurers And Now Voyagers
Pilots started the new school year on 3rd September and on the third week we had 16 children, that’s the most we’ve had since I’ve been Captain! Hopefully a sign of exciting times ahead. I’m lucky to have great support from Heidi Barnet and Vanessa Lella with Sharon Bedford as backup.
We also started a ‘Voyagers’ group on 3rd September this group is for Pilots aged between 11 and 14 and so far we’ve had 4 regular attendees. My thanks to Margaret Hanson for her support in this.
It’s a less formal meeting than the younger Pilot session with lots of emphasis on fun and friendship. So if you know any young people in this age range please suggest they give us a try on a Wednesday evening at Longcauseway Church, 7.30pm to 8.45pm.
Though for the next two meetings we will all meet together between 6.15pm and 7.30pm as on September 23rd we are holding our ‘Macmillan Coffee Morning in the Evening!’ Fundraiser and on September 30th we are lucky to have Rachel Wetherill, our very own Environmental Health Officer coming along to give us a fun and informative talk on food hygiene. If any of our ‘Ice cream Sunday’ group would like to attend this, you are more than welcome!
Finally a big thank you for your continuing support for all that our Pilots do and especially at our special Church Service on 28th June, Pilots very much enjoy leading Worship and hope that you all enjoy our efforts.
