On Wednesday evening 10th February the Pilots welcomed the Yorkshire area pilot officers Alan and Janet to their meeting. We began by discussing the meaning of Lent and its relevance for us today.
We played a game where we had to identify a Bible character from a number of clues: Noah, Moses, Mary the mother of Jesus the wise men were guessed.
Alan organised a game of noughts and crosses, dividing the Pilots into two teams one of noughts, one of crosses, gave each member a number and as the numbers were called each pilot moved to a group of nine chairs and tried to create a line of 3 of the same type.
We concluded with delicious pancakes made by Margaret Paylor and Olga. The number of Pilots present, seventeen in number, makes the Church’s Pilot Company the largest in Yorkshire, for which we rejoice.
