Reflection for the Week

6th August 2017

The Lord is my Shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.

Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose.

Near restful waters he leads me to revive my drooping spirit

(part of Psalm 23 paraphrased)

Lord God

You cannot help but love me …

In my hurt … you hold me

In my turning … you call me

In my sinfulness … you understand me

In my straying … you challenge me

In my hesitation … you persuade me

In my anger … you listen for me

In my grieving ... you weep with me

In my silence … you wait for me

In my reluctance … you bide with me

In my fear … you stay with me

In my loneliness … you speak to me

In all of life … you love me

You cannot help yourself ...

neither yesterday… not today… nor forever…
