Weekly Reflection - 18th September 2016
Today as I rise
Thank you that I am able to rise today to the sounds of birds
singing your praises.
You have given them the ability to rise and sing no matter what the
day brings. So today as I rise, help me to do the same.
Today as I rise, I sing your praises for this new day, and for all that it will bring. I sing your praises because today will have its own
challenges and issues distinct from yesterday's. I sing your praises
because no matter what comes to challenge me today, I know that
you have instilled in me and in all people and within Your creation,
the strength to rise to the challenge.
Help me to keep singing today, throughout the day, with that inner
strength that you have given me. Help me to dig deep within, so
that I may continue to use what you have given, to rise with
strength and determination, to face the day and its challenges.
And as the songs of the birds get drowned out by the sounds of a
busy and important world - people hustling, traffic on the streets,
roadworks, cashiers at the tills - help me to remember that the birds songs are still there, being sung even though I may not hear them.
Almighty God, thank you that I am able to rise today to the sounds
of birds singing your praises. You have given them the ability to rise
and sing no matter what the day brings.
So today as I rise, help me to do the same.
