THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Revd. Mark Robinson
20 Some Pharisees asked Jesus when the Kingdom of God would come. His answer was, “The Kingdom of God does not come in such a way as to be seen. 21 No one will say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’; because the Kingdom of God is within you.” (Good News)
Scripture has always spoken about people entering the Kingdom of God and not of the Kingdom entering people, but in Luke 17:21 Jesus talks about the Kingdom being within, being among people and this is occurring presently, in Jesus' day and right here in our time. The Kingdom is within, present with us today and every day all we need do is reach in and draw on the Grace and Strength and Power of God that dwells within. Thanks be to God.
I bind unto myself today
The power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need.
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
